Perry Como – And I Love You So

“And I Love You So” is a popular song written by folk singer and guitarist Don McLean and released on his 1970 debut album, Tapestry. Its chorus features an unusual rhyming scheme for a popular song: ABBA versus the usual AB(C or A)B.

In 1973, Perry Como’s hit song “And I Love You So” was featured on his RCA Victor album of the same title. It climbed to No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking his final entry into the Top 40 after a string of popular recordings dating back to 1943. The song also claimed the top spot on the easy listening chart for a week. Internationally, it reached No. 2 in South Africa and No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart, where it remained for an impressive 35 weeks under RCA Records. Additionally, Como recorded a Spanish version titled “Y te quiero así.”
